Landscape Vision

     To guide all landscape students to reach their individual potential by developing horticultural knowledge, entry-level landscape skills and positive attitudes in a safe, nuturing environment.

Landscape Industry Exploration

     If you like to work outside with plants and get dirty, this class is meant for you! This course offers instruction in basic horticulture and landscape systems.  Hands on activities include career exploration, native plant studies, wetland/wildlife exploration, tool and equipment operation, community leadership and stewardship, and horticulture employability skills. Students are also introduced to forestry and orchard management. A Certificate of Completion is offered.

Internship with Independent Study for the Above Classes

     The internship is for the third year student - juniors and seniors - with a strong interest in vocational or college related horticulture.  One year program = 180 hours.  Internship sites include: Colorado State University Cooperative Extension, Western Colorado Botanic Garden, City of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation, Palisade Wholesale Greenhouse, Career Center Horticulture Program, and School District 51 various school grounds.  Internships will require an interview with the student, teacher and site coordinator.
